Who builds Clipwipe
Clipwipe is made by Ankur Khandelwal, an independent maker who builds small, practical web tools under the name nocodetalks. It is a one-person project, so there is a real person behind the code and behind the contact address, not a faceless tool farm.
Ankur also built Framer Export, which turns Framer sites into self-hosted HTML, CSS and JavaScript so people are not locked into a subscription to keep their own website online. Clipwipe comes from the same idea: useful software that respects your ownership and your privacy.
Why Clipwipe runs on your device
Most watermark removers upload your video to a server. Clipwipe does not. It loads once, then does everything (decode, remove the watermark, re-encode) inside your own browser, using its built-in video engine. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and no watermark is added to the result.
The reason is simple: your unreleased footage should not sit on someone else's machine. You can prove it works this way: load the page, disconnect from the internet, and it still cleans a video. That design choice is the whole point of the tool.
Honest about what it does
Clipwipe removes the visible watermark only. It does not remove Google's invisible SynthID marking, so a processed video can still be identified as AI-generated, and it should only be used on content you own or have the right to edit. The terms and privacy policy spell this out.

The image watermark remover is powered by the open-source gemini-watermark-remover by GargantuaX (MIT licence). Clipwipe's video engine is its own.
